The event included a ceremony honoring employees who have been with the company for 45 years or more who were flown in just for the celebration. Chief Executive Officer Michael Stivala gave remarks to the crowd which included Suburban Propane employees as well as individuals from the company’s longtime community and national partners.

Hanover Township Mayor Ronald Francioli presented Stivala with the Corporate Achievement Award including a Key to the Township, an honor Mayor Francioli noted is “not given out lightly.”

Suburban Propane Chief Financial Officer & Chief Accounting Officer Michael A. Kuglin presented Whippany Fire Department Chief, Joseph J. Cortright with a check for a donation of $1,000, followed by a statement from the chief, who noted the value of Suburban Propane’s emergency response efforts and shared that his father once played little league for a local team sponsored by Suburban Propane.

Executive Director of the New Jersey Historical Society Steven Tettamanti received a donation of historic photographs from throughout Suburban Propane’s 95 years in the state, marking the official start of the Suburban Propane Archive, joining business records dating back to the colonial era.

In addition to the speaking program and cake cutting ceremony featuring custom creations from New Jersey’s own Carlo’s Bakery, the event included an outdoors company picnic as well as a blood drive hosted by the American Red Cross in celebration of the long-standing collaboration.

LouJuan has a passion for training so when he heard about our Regional Technical Trainer program he jumped at the chance to become certified so he could help train new service technicians. Whether he’s installing a tank, selling an account or training a new tech, LouJuan’s focus is to serve.

Once a Marine, always a Marine; LouJuan volunteered for our Veteran’s Buddy program as a way to continue his service to our country by being available to new veteran employees to help transition into civilian employment and navigate Suburban Propane culture.

LouJuan’s customers benefit from his focus on service as well. There is no “one” incident that separates Lou Juan from the standard employee when it comes to great customer service. As we receive numerous complimentary comments from current and new customers about his work ethic and positive attitude.
